CKRAS Gaming vs UV Gaming – CGmain League

(The following report was written by our Referee, bakfiets.)

In the Cybergamer main ladder the Danish team of Image CKRAS Gaming faced a Spanish opponent playing under the flag of the Irish organization of Image UltraViolet Gaming. The Danes have played 7 matches so far, won 4 of them and lost 3. Ultraviolet played 6 matches and only won one match, drew one and lost 4. It was bound to be an one-sided match.

Stefan “guanaz” Geisler
Mik “champ” Bødtker
Patrick André “PatrickG” Gjøl
Emil “hiffer” Ervolder
Kristian “piika” Kristiansen
Alvaro “ermAt” Abaunza
Jacobo “Jcbbbbbb
Raul Fernandez “glu” Rodriguez
Erick “erick” Villlamull
Marcos Garcia “VR<3” Avellaneda

The map for today was mp_crossfire, a sniper dominated map. The game started off with the knife round and CKRAS Gaming took it easily and chose to attack first. Emil “hiffer” Ervolder decided to take the demolition class the first round, hoping he would be faster at the B bombsite. It worked out for him as he managed to plant the bomb immediately. The round straight afterwards, hiffer did it again and Ultraviolet didn’t seem to have an answer. Once CKRAS planted they just waited until the Spanish team moved in and so they could easily pick up the kills. The Danish team took a quick lead: 3-0 and then decided to mix it up a bit and slowed the pace. Still, Ultraviolet couldn’t get a grip on them. Patrick André “PatrickG” Gjøl played amazing for his team and in the fourth round, he managed to take down 4 men.

Ultraviolet definitely needed to change this up before the match was over. Alvaro “ermAt” Abaunza decided they lost enough rounds and in the sixth round he opened up on PatrickG with the sniper. Later in that round there was a 3v3 situation, where ermAt took down all the three players of CKRAS using a smg and a nade. 5-1

CKRAS mixed it up once more as they try to push A fast. On the first hand, it worked out for them as they quickly took down three players of Ultraviolet. The Spanish team quickly replied with three kills of their own. However, CKRAS knew the positions of the enemy and they quickly shot them both down. The following round CKRAS planted B fast again. Whatever Ultraviolet were trying to do to regain the B site, it’s just wasn't working. Whenever they pushed in, PatrickG managed to land all of his shots, leaving them no chance

The last rounds CKRAS Gaming kept going B as it seems to work out for them. Ultraviolet knew they had to take out the plant because they haven’t won one round when the bomb was planted. Jacobo “Jcbbbbbb” tried to push melons and he got there twice, destroying CKRAS in the process. In the tenth round he opened up on hiffer, stopping him from fast planting. However, his team couldn’t secure the round because of PatrickG coming up huge for his team again by winning a 1v1 situation in the end. In the twelfth round he naded Stefan “guanaz” Geisler first, enabled him to push into melons for the first time this map. His team quickly took down piika and hiffer making it a 2v5. However, PatrickG and champ didn’t want to lose the round, so they picked up three frags. In the middle of the 2v2 situation PatrickG timed out and champ was taken down by Erick, they lost the round. Halftime score: 9-3

CKRAS PatrickG timed out before halftime. His score was 17-3.

The teams switched sides and Ultraviolet started on the easier attack side. It didn’t seem to bother PatrickG as he shot ermAt right through the smoke. Ultraviolet picked up three kills afterwards and lost one, a 3v2 situation in favor of Ultraviolet. However, they could not decide what they were going to do and die by the bullets of the superb play of champ and PatrickG. The next round is a quick one as players are dying everywhere, leaving hiffer into 1v2 situation. He pulled of the clutch by killing ermAt following up by killing Jcbbbbbb, who tried to plant the bomb. 11-3

The next round was an easy one for CKRAS, making it 12-3, nine match points. The sixteenth round Ultraviolet tried to surprise CKRAS. Jcbbbbbb and VR<3 pushed the A site together, successfully, as they kill four CKRAS players between and secure the round. However, CKRAS wasn’t impressed. They pushed aggressively the following round and Ultraviolet, again, had no answer. Final score: 13-4

The aftermath
The match did had some consequences for the Spanish team. Right after the match, all the players left the team except for ermAt. They seem to have folded since all their matches have resulted in a forfeit loss. The reason for the fold remains unknown, we tried to contact the players but they couldn’t be found anywhere.
