CG is dead.

Is there anything we can do to atleast try and make it.... less dead.

I'm regretting buying premium, due to the fact that I'm not actually getting anything out of it anymore. No enjoyment from people posts.

No enjoyment on the CGa games due to the fact that they're badly moderated by a few 1 sided admins ect.
A little enjoyment from CGi games, with Good teams on the stream, but it's frustrating, and I know some guys on CG are feeling the same way

So I post a question to the community that is CyberGamer, Is there anything we can do as a community to increase activity on Cybergamer? Anything at all?

afaik CGa is closed atm, once all disputes are closed the top14? teams will advance to CGm?
After this the ladder will probably re-open I guess.. Not sure what you're trying to say about "enjoying people posts" but I guess it's due to the fact the community's main home is still over at tek9.

I also think we'll see much more activity in this next season with VN's decision on the channels.

I know Cga is closed at the moment. And I know majority of people are over at Tek-9. I spend alot of my time there too... But as a friendly community, a community that actually has some serious discussions, CG always gets my vote. Tek-9 is full of trolls, and people who just want to flame you and shit.

I enjoy some posts here cause effort has gone into making them. Some people actually think about what they want to start talking about, and that's better than tek-9. Where instead you get a bunch of dribblies talking about how awesome they are and how shit you are. despite beating them 18-6 and 16-8 :/

- CGi games have hardly been streamed, it was more of a test season than anything.
- Same for CGm
- Season 2 starting in January
- Its December, always inactive around this time of year (look back at the past 2-3 years...it's the same sort of activity)
- CGa closed because we set a promotion date, it was known to everyone as it was displayed on the ladder page and rules.
- On the CGa ladder page, it also says that it'll restart as soon as all open matches and disputes are closed. Why? Because there's a few disputes that may change some of the top14 ranking for the promotion.
- CGa will have the ELO rating system
- CGo has the ELO system
- The activity on CG has been outstanding, only recently it's taken a dip because CGa has closed for the time being
- Why are CGa games badly moderated? If anything, it's YOU/the teams that fail at understanding the rules. Here's a short list of how every single dispute goes..

- Upload demo within 48 hours -> no demo -> default win for the other team
- Demos uploaded, timestamps within 48 hours -> no timestamps -> the team that won will receive the win
- Demos uploaded, timestamped, demos are reviewed by the Vita Nova anti-cheat team -> verdict made as soon as the anti-cheat team have come to a conclusion
- Ineligible players playing in a match -> default win for the other team
- 1 team laming due to no server stream -> servers are supposed to be checked before the match goes live, no default win given
- no tzac -> default win for the other team (when the old rules were used)

- Premium doesn't really offer that much compared to the likes of CB or ESL. Paying for premium is simply a donation / something that you have given 'back' to the developers of the site considering he works his ass off to satisfy our community for no return at all. He also puts in his OWN money for the leagues..

- CG has been updated a lot recently, including the recent integration of the ELO system which we can't wait to use for CGa. We have a site that we can use and update based on the communities feedback/opinions, make use of it rather than moaning about 'activity'

anything else you want to moan about?

It's not dead, its Winter. Look at tek9, there are almost only non-related threads openend beside the "LFT" threads. Be happy theres barely similar stuff on here.
+ Holidays are coming around etc.

The only thing I've noticed that pugs are dead since october. the channel is empty. This really pissed me off as when CG (re) launched theres was almost always a game on, even at 3am in the morning

People here seem to think I'm whining about this? I'm not. I'm merely stating that the forums are dead.

And it's not just because the ladders are down for a few weeks. The forums have been dead for months. I've been trying to get them active again by creating tek-9 threads linking to threads on CG ect. But the forum over the past 3 months has had about 40 new threads, 70% of which were LFT threads. I'm not moaning that it's recent, I'm not moaning at all. I'm merely stating that CG has become SOOOO inactive over the past 3/4 months compared to earlier on this year.

PUGs have been dead for over a month now, and I know this for a fact, I created a few pugs last week, left it on for 5 hours, no-one joined, so i left. couldn't be asked. I even created a thread about PUGs being dead, and it created quite a commotion in the community about admins, players, ect.

I'm not whining... I'm merely stating. I don't know if I got you tone wrong tomzki, but whenever you talk to me, it always seems that your mad... It might be the way I read it, or the way you type it, i dunno... It's just weird. lol

First of all, I'm not mad Just a little bit irritated by your idiotic posts at times.. re-read your own post and think about my response to you ^ You never once stated 'forum', you actually mentioned premium, cgi, cga and general activity..

PUGs have been inactive for a while, it's the same with any pickup. Don't know how long you've been in the scene but think back to the old mpukcod4.pickups channel, they were buzzing for a few months then eventually died down. Same with 'drafts' that Multiplay held and eventually TEK9. Vita Nova re-created the pickups, they were really active for a few months then they died down. It's the community that's the problem, if they aren't interested in something that everyone plays in then they simply won't join in. The servers and teamspeak are there, just simply need the community to populate them.

CG forum activity was good when it first opened, mainly because its something new and something that everyone was using at the time. TEK9 has always been the core of the community, for many many years. Can't expect everyone to just jump ship.. You can't really expect CG to be active straight away, it takes time and it's slowly improving overall.

Yes I do think you're whining judging by your original post, as I said, re-read your own post and think again.

Tool >> xD

I'm not whining, if I was whining, it would look different. If YOU had read the post, I was asking a question, about hoe the community at the moment could improve itself. Active players, more threads, ect. It was a question, not a statement about how shit it is. lol

Your question has already been answered

It's usually inactive around this time of year, activity will pick up once the tournaments and ladders re-open. As for the forums, they won't be as active like TEK9 but one day, they will be. As I said, can't expect everyone to jump ship and have everyone using CG straight away, it takes time.

You say you're talking about activity.. then why did you say this?

Elaborate on what?

That I'm not getting enjoyment from the forums like I used to?

Yes i know it's Christmas, and I know people don't waste there lives on here, but it'd be nice if it had some fun posts, without getting trolled by the trolls who belong in caves, and not in forums.

By CGa games i mean that we had a problem with one of our games, back in the old tournament. Mainly the admin dealing with the dispute was talking to a vita nova banned player (Who was the team manager) and just done what he asked. I know this cause I spoke to team manager and he said that he told him what to do, so he did it, because they were friends. Annoying is all.

I will make some more posts. Best thing to do is start polls and open topics sharing hobbies music and other interest to start engagement with the visitors. It takes a while before the forum will boost. Season 2 will do most of the job but as mentioned above it is christmas time and its always a lull

lynchy-choobie

and the story is different, you tried to lame a match by trying to get it replayed because the match was played earlier then it mentioned on CG. lynchy who can be manager as long as he doesnt play alerted an admin who dealt with the situation appropriately.

Do not complain about CG if you made the first mistake, thanks
