GB is the size of the ram stick, Mhz is the speed it operates at.

more = better but if you have enough ram already its one of them things that really doesn't make a noticeable difference (unless doing alot of heavy resource work like encoding)

ive never seen a difference in speed using a higher speed ram though.

If you have two RAM units with different clocks, doesn't the system just clock them at the Hz of the slower one?
Having two RAM units of the same build (GB, Hz) is definitely beneficial, I don't know if they necessarily have to be the same make though.

Then again, I don't have much of a clue.

Yes, this is what happens.

You guys should come over to the AU Hardware Discussion section or the PC Help section of CG if you have any questions, we've got some pretty intense nerds over here

Make a thread and people will help you out.

Hopefully they'll make the site a little more unified over time, coz it's annoying swapping between them atm.
